  10. If you are a service or non-profit organization then NGL may serve your 
  11. bookkeeping needs.  NGL is a double entry system for Non Profit General 
  12. Ledger users.  It uses pre-defined account numbers to track service     
  13. groups and their related fund accounts.  NGL is akin to SBAS's [Small   
  14. Business Accounting System] General Ledger program. SBAS uses no pre-   
  15. defined account numbers, has online help, and is easy to set up.  NGL   
  16. does not have online help and does not use the function keys. But it    
  17. does have a tutorial and start up program which simplifies the          
  18. installation process.                                                   
  19.                                                                         
  20. Installation is not difficult, although familiarity with accounting     
  21. terms is a plus.  NGL uses a six digit account number system and you    
  22. must use it.  For those working in a non profit groups, NGL is          
  23. especially useful since it is designed to work with multiple fund and   
  24. service accounts.  Various reports can be printed for these accounts    
  25. which can help the group keep up with the various designated monies.    
  26. However, there is only a consolidated report for these funds and service
  27. accounts.  There are no fund or service tracking reports.  On the up    
  28. side, data is posted directly to the accounts for fast reporting of the 
  29. status of the organization.                                             
  30.                                                                         
  31. The NGL manual is thorough, and is especially useful to non profit      
  32. groups.  The manual alone may be worth the registration fee.   However, 
  33. the program can be used by anyone, regardless of the type of            
  34. organization.  Overall, this is a good package for anyone needing a     
  35. general ledger accounting program.
